Overcome Infertility
By: Michelle Haskins

Infertility is the inability to get pregnant after trying for at least one year without using birth control.
If trying to have a baby has become more of a chore for you than the beautiful experience it should be; you are not alone. Every year thousands of couples find that conceiving may not be as easy as originally thought. Some people look at pregnancy as the man depositing the sperm and the rest is up to the female. Not true! It is very important that both people involved in the process ensure that they are both healthy. You are your partner both should ensure that you are eating properly and that you are exercising daily. Don't go to extremes with the exercise, as this can work against you. Do ensure that you are getting at least 30 minutes of exercise per day. Are either of you taking prescription medications? Check with your physician to see if the medicine has any affect on your ability to get pregnant. Is the medicine safe during pregnancy? If not can it be changed to something else that will not interfere? Cutting back on the caffeine and alcohol can also aid you in the process. Did you know that one cup of coffee per day can increase decrease your fertility by 50%?
After several failed attempts to become pregnant you may find yourself agitated over the situation. Coupled with the normal stress of daily life. This can also play a role.Relaxation is another key element.Techniques such as yoga and meditation can help you and your partner relax. Also look for a support group in your local area. Talking about it with other couples experiencing the same issues is another great stress reliever.
Perseverance is important. Having sex with your partner 2-3 times per week will increase your chances. Don't allow your baby dreams to override the enjoyment of sex with your partner. Feeling obligated to do something can make it much less pleasurable. If only after a year you are still not expecting, it may be time to make an appointment with your physician.
Not every couple experiencing difficulty can afford fertility treatments, in vitro, etc. Supporting each other is also needed. Don't lay blame on one or the other. you both want the same thing. Working together towards your goal is vital.
